I’m working on a new design for ThemeMeme, a new WordPress theme, to be called ThemeMeme Aeterno. Like my other themes, the name comes from some Lorem Ispum nonsense, and is not meant to infringe on any other use, and especially is in no way is connected to the Urban Dictionary definition of Aeterno, which I only just discovered. Honest.

I think of ThemeMeme Aeterno as the successor to my WordPress theme, ThemeMeme Aperio. I would have kept the same name, since I originally thought of Aperio as a prototype rather than a finished theme, but it has since taken on a life of its own.

I’m still thinking through the design, but the home page is live with Aeterno, and I’ll be tweaking it and filling out the inside pages in the coming days. School starts on January 6th, so I’ll have my hands full soon, but sometime after ThemeMeme has been updated, I’ll be releasing the design as a theme.

I’d appreciate any feedback you have on the home page or any suggestions, but please understand that I may be slow in responding.

  4. Hey! Nice to see you are working on a new theme. Happy new year to you.

I am wondering if the colors are being powered by the categories. If so, what happens when a post is in 2 categories?
Also, your most recent post does not show up first. Have you a way to order the posts on the homepage?

    Cheers!

  5. Thanks for the comments. It’s good to be back!

Yes, Able, the categories are color coded (I’m still mulling over the default color scheme). If there is more than one category, I think it will take the color of the last category listed. But you should really have only one category per post and use multiple tags, if necessary. The first post is out of order because the featured post is sticky.
